The rapid digitalization of business processes has transformed how organizations collect, process, store, and monetize data. While digital technologies enable operational efficiency, innovation, and personalized customer experiences, they also expose organizations to significant data privacy risks and regulatory challenges. Increasing concerns over personal data misuse, cybersecurity threats, and cross-border data flows have prompted governments worldwide to introduce stringent data protection regulations. Digital organizations must now balance innovation with regulatory compliance, ethical responsibility, and stakeholder trust. This paper examines the role of data privacy and regulatory compliance in digital organizations from a techno-managerial and governance perspective. Through an extensive review of academic literature, international regulatory frameworks, and industry practices, the study nalyses key privacy principles, compliance mechanisms, organizational challenges, and strategic responses. A conceptual framework is proposed linking digital capabilities, privacy governance, regulatory compliance, and organizational performance. The paper concludes that effective data privacy management and compliance are no longer legal
obligations alone but strategic imperatives for sustainable digital growth. Managerial implications, policy recommendations,
and future research directions are also discussed.
